ACARES now an Approved Aged Care Provider

Published on January 30, 2017

Did you know that ACARES is now an Approved Aged Care Provider as per the Department of Health? The approval has come in at a great time as 27th February 2017 marked some significant changes to the ways in which home care services will be delivered to older Australians into the future.

What are the changes and how do they affect you?

The key changes under the Increasing Choice in Home Care reforms will see a nationally consistent prioritisation system established, thus ensuring fair and equitable access to home care for consumers.

In addition, Home Care package funding will now follow the consumer, replacing the current system where home care places are allocated directly to approved aged care providers. This change will allow you to choose and direct package funding to the provider that best meets your needs.

How can ACARES help consumers maximise their care as an approved aged care provider?

Our trained and professional care staff can support you to ensure your independence and lifestyle choices are valued all year round.

Typically when receiving support, consumers have to factor in on costs such as administration and management fees which other aged care providers charge on top of the cost to deliver support. At the end of the day, this leaves you with less funds which results in less care.

At ACARES, we eliminate the additional costs and simply charge for care delivered which means that you can spend more time doing what you love as you have greater access to support from our friendly staff.
