Calling all individuals with a thirst for art and culture … The Thrive Hive is your answer!

The ACARES team is excited to announce the re-launch of our existing Art Space in Highett Victoria as “The Thrive Hive”.

Organised by our fabulous National Wellness Coordinator Rachael Read, The Thrive Hive expands upon the ACARES mission to enhance the lives of our clients by providing opportunities for individuals to achieve their goals, maximising their personal potential and enhance their quality of life.

It is no secret that art and culture inspires creativity, encourages social inclusion, creating opportunities for self expression and belonging. But did you know that one in five people in Australia who have some form of disability encounter barriers accessing cultural experiences and engaging in artistic expression? Enter The Thrive Hive.

What is The Thrive Hive?

The Thrive Hive is essentially a hub for a variety of facilitator led programs delivered in Melbourne’s South Eastern suburbs. Participants are supported with individual assistance in a range of classes including; painting, music, photography, cooking, creative writing and stand-up comedy nights.

Each of our classes run over a 10 week term, with four terms throughout the year. The last week of each term is known as our “open hive” where we welcome your family and friends in to view your work. Given the unique structure of each class, places are limited and do require booking to secure your spot.

Talk with Rachael about coming along to our open door programs to try before you buy! For those that want to jump straight into the hive or have any queries regarding any of the programs, please contact Rachael directly:
